Peru Puno Alto Inambari
Alto Inambari in Puno produces some of Peru’s best coffees. This area has very high elevations; many of the cities are located at elevations higher than coffee can grow! There is a diversity of very fertile soils here in the Andes, even at low temperatures, with a high variety of minerals. This washed lot is fermented for 15-20 hours in cement tanks, then dried on raised beds for 10-20 days. In the cup we get very balanced and sweet flavors of brownie, snickerdoodle, and green grape.
Alto Inambari comes to us from Sandia in Puno along the shores of Lake Titicaca. There, according to legend, the children of the Sun, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, arose from its waters to elevate the masses, venerate the Sun, and establish the mighty Inca Empire.
The importer behind this coffee is Red Fox Coffee Merchants. They have been working in remote regions of Peru for many years to bring to market some really amazing coffees for specialty coffee drinkers to enjoy.
