THE STORY

The Story Behind the Coffee

This is a Backyard Beans original—we’ve been roasting this coffee since 2014, back when our roastery was in our garage. Filled with flavors like chocolate and spice this coffee strikes the balance of being bold but not burnt.

We’re still using organic Honduras COMSA, our longest buying relationship, which gives us the perfect coffee for this nice dark roast! You can load it up with cream and sugar or keep it black—either way will give you that punch in the face feeling.

We Taste: Bold start, smooth finish. Slightly smoky with chocolate undertones, thick body.
Producer: smallholder farmers who are members of the COMSA cooperative, about 1,600 farmers are members. We have been buying their coffee since 2014.
Origin: La Paz, Marcala
Altitude: 1,300 - 1,700 masl
Varietal: Bourbon, Typica, Catuai, Caturra
