Portch Tea Kombucha is on tap at Backyard Beans!

Come on into a Backyard Beans Cafe location to get your growler filled. We now offer TWO kombucha flavors from local favorites Portch Tea.

For those who have never tried it, kombucha is a fermented sweet tea, which, when well executed like all Portch Tea kombucha, is a delicious, lightly effervescent, and sweet-and-sour beverage that contains the healthy live probiotic cultures you need. Portch Tea kombucha is made using fresh herbs and fruit grown on their twenty-acre family farm in Vera Cruz in southeastern Pennsylvania. And this kombucha is unlike any other. Portch Tea's tried-and-true fermentation and infusion process gives their kombucha a crisper and less vinegary taste than the kombucha you buy in the grocery store. We know you will agree, this is the good stuff!

The best way to serve kombucha is on tap, and that is why we want to fill your growler. Growlers are reusable, sustainable, and help reduce waste consumption.

Just bring in your clean 32 oz growler and we will sanitize and fill it with Portch Tea kombucha for $10.00. Don’t have a growler? You can purchase a filled, 32 oz reusable growler from us for $8.00 plus the cost of the beverage. Our kombucha flavors change weekly, so when your growler is empty, bring it in for a refill.

If kombucha is not your cup of tea, try filling your growler with our refreshing, house-made cold brews for $8.00.

For those who love both kombucha and cold brew, it is important NOT to share a growler. The bacteria that forms the kombucha's SCOBY can create a biofilm in growlers, that if not properly cleaned and sanitized, can impact the quality of cold brew (or beer for that matter) - for this reason we recommend that you do not use your growler for both cold brew and kombucha. It is best to have one growler designated for kombucha and one for cold brew.
