Warm Hearts, Big Impact — Thank you for supporting Mitzvah Circle over the holiday season.

Hi friends — Laura here from Backyard Beans. Between brisk mornings, cozy cups of coffee, and lots of holiday moments shared with loved ones, the end of the year came in a blur. Now that our Warm Hearts Campaign has wrapped, I wanted to share my gratitude and just how much we were able to accomplish together.

Thanks to your support, we raised $5,000 for Mitzvah Circle, helping them continue their essential work in Montgomery County. That will fund care, comfort, and stability for families navigating challenging times.

Over the course of the campaign, you purchased:

• 593 bags of Warm Hearts coffee

• 511 cans of Warm Hearts cold brew

Your purchases generated $3,987 in contributions, and Backyard Beans topped that up with $1,013 to hit our goal. Every bag brewed and every cold brew cracked open meant more resources for community support — from care packages to referrals, coaching, and ongoing help.

I’m grateful that Backyard Beans can be something more than a great place to get coffee — that it can be part of positive change in both our global coffee communities and right here at home. This season’s campaign was a perfect example of that in action.

• Support stronger daycare involvement and school attendance

• Expand access to employment resources for families

• Create more comfortable, secure homes with reduced daily stress

• Help reduce food insecurity

Mitzvah Circle operates differently from many traditional charities — they take time to understand the whole family, not just the presenting need. Instead of one-size-fits-all support, they build relationships and remove obstacles that keep people from moving forward. 

Through personalized support, referrals, coaching, and thoughtfully prepared care packages filled with essentials like clothing, shoes, diapers, period supplies, books, and household goods, they help families find footing and dignity even in hard seasons.
