It seems like just yesterday winter was giving way to spring as we eagerly started another season of farmers’ markets and summer events. Now that summer has turned to fall, and winter is quickly approaching, it’s time to embrace rosy noses and cheeks, the sound of jingle bells, and the smell of fresh cut pine trees. And of course seasonal coffee drinks! One of our favorites this time of year is a peppermint mocha. The combination of peppermint, chocolate, and coffee can’t be beat. Add a little whipped cream on top for a real treat. Here is a super easy recipe for a peppermint mocha you can make at home. So drink up while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the season.
Combine the following ingredients in a blender and whip until frothy:
- 16 ounces freshly brewed strong coffee -- we recommend using any of our Single Origin roasts
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ cup heavy cream, or milk of choice
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp peppermint extract
Serve hot. If you really want to get into the spirit of Christmas, it’s fun to add candy-canes as stirrers!
