The Impact of Our Work: Reflecting on 2025, Building for 2026

Reflecting on 2025

In 2025, we pushed ourselves in all the right ways – growing our impact while staying true to what matters most. Even with rising coffee costs and industry challenges, we roasted over 675,000 pounds of coffee, expanded our family of brands, and launched exciting innovations like shelf-stable cold brew. We hit the majority of our impact goals, donated more than $45,000 to our community partners, and continued making progress on sustainability – from composting thousands of pounds of coffee grounds to planting over 16,000 trees. Through it all, we stayed focused on our purpose: making great coffee, supporting our people and partners, and finding ways to do better every step of the way.

A Look Ahead: Our 2026 Focus

As we move past a challenging but impactful 2025, we are focusing on deliberate, steady progress in 2026. This year is dedicated to doing things better, more sustainably, and with greater purpose.

Our Core Goals for 2026

Lowering Our Environmental Impact

After completing our first full carbon footprint measurement in 2025 (expanding beyond just the Backyard Beans brand to include CoLab and One Village), we are ready to take action. We will partner more closely with We Are Neutral to set concrete reduction goals and implement changes, prioritizing areas of our business with the largest environmental footprint.

Thoughtful Growth

Our focus isn't just on getting bigger; it's on getting better without sacrificing quality. Last year we roasted over 675,000 lbs of coffee (wild, right?). Do you think we can hit 800,000 this year? We’ll see. While we aim to grow that number, growth will also be fueled by expanding our CoLab partnerships and increasing our line of shelf-stable cold brew. All of this rests on a strong foundation of quality and intentionality.

Strengthening Coffee Relationships

Great coffee begins with great relationships. In 2026, we are doubling down on our core sourcing values:

  • Maintaining transparency and intentionality in our sourcing.

  • Building long-term partnerships with trusted farmers and importers.

Expanding Community Impact

Giving back remains a vital part of who we are. Our goals for the community this year include:

  • Reach over $45,000 in monetary and in-kind donations.

  • Growing our philanthropic coffee program.

  • Supporting more local organizations and events.

We are also excited about a small, meaningful addition: establishing a native garden at our Lansdale cafe. We will be partnering with local native garden experts at Indigenous Ingenuities to support biodiversity in our own backyard!

We don’t have it all figured out – but we know the direction. 2026 is about steady progress: doing things better, more sustainably, and with purpose. Because at the end of the day, growth isn’t just about numbers – it’s about impact, relationships, and staying true to why we started.

As always, thank you for being a part of this with us!
