This limited edition coffee roast and cold brew is not just any coffee. It's a blend of passion, dedication, and compassion. This coffee was carefully selected - Colombia Tolima Black Condor project - roasted to perfection, and brewed with love, ensuring that each cup is an experience to cherish.

Warm Hearts was born out of a simple idea: that a cup of coffee could be more than just a beverage. It could be a source of comfort for children facing medical challenges, a glimmer of hope for their families, and a testament to the incredible strength within our community.

More about the coffee: Colombia Tolima Black Condor

Tolima Black Condor project is a new lot we began sourcing in 2023. The momentum is strong with very exciting things happening with this group of producers. Located in Tolima, an area historically impacted by conflict and renowned as the birthplace of Colombian coffee, this project supports over 100 conflict-affected farmers with a washing station, workshops, and payments above market rates. We roast this a little past a light roast level to hit a symphonic balance of caramelized sugars, chocolate, red fruits, roasted almonds, panela and mandarin oranges.

Emmanuel Enciso began the washing station in 2016. In collaboration with his family, they established a coffee processing center aimed at assisting over 15 villages in Gaitania. Our importer Forest Green Coffee linked up with Emmanuel in 2019 to establish the Black Condor Project. Workshops are routinely facilitated with producers to emphasize quality and cover processes such as fermentation, drying, and cupping of their own coffees. Internal competition is fostered among producers to promote and give visibility to their coffees and improvements. We are excited to hear that 12 producers will present their coffees in the 2024 Tolima Regional Coffee Auction, taking place at the end of October 2024. The community is making strides toward success!

The coffee harvested by the participating farmers is received for processing at La Roma Estate Tuesday-Saturday where the de-pulping runs from the afternoon to midnight. Emanuel’s sister Valentina Enciso is in charge of quality control. In September of 2024 the wet mill processed 150,000 kg of coffee cherries. The harvest continues to roll in strong at time of writing in October 2024. October is a highly productive month for this region.

One effort the project is spearheading is cultivating new unconventional varieties. Java and SL28 seeds were just received and will be germinated and cultivated to later distribute to the farmers. The goal is to help increase cup score, demand, and thus increase family incomes by 10-25%.
